Driven by the compelling aesthetics inherent in parametric patterns and designs, this unique luminary intricately weaves together the artistry of layered curved patterns, strategically arranged to evoke an illusion of movement within its distinctive and asymmetrical form.

In creating the half-scale sketch model, I utilized laser cutting to fashion a series of curves on plywood and clear plexiglass sheets. The pieces based on the same set of curves were symmetrically arranged along two different axis encircling two circular disks.

Upon completing the sketch model, I recognized the need for design modifications:
-
Vertical elongation to attain an elegant aesthetic
-
Material change for improved light transmission
-
Integration of connection slots for heightened security
-
Opposite arrangement of curves to add asymmetry

Final Model
For the ultimate iteration of the model, I made some final adjustments to achieve the desired outcome. By refining the connection slots on the template, the materials gracefully wrap around the pendant, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes as they seamlessly evolve into two distinct spiral forms. Additionally, the substitution of the wooden top and base with white plexiglass facilitates upward and downward light extension, enhancing the elegant contour of the curves.
